Kellie was one the best "American Idols", even though she didn't win. Kellie Pickler, born June 28, 1986 to Cynthia Morton Pickler and Clyde Raymond Pickler in Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. She was born to a 16-year-old mother. This was an extremely difficult time for Pickler as her father battled with addiction for drinking and drug addiction while her mother left her at the age of two. Morton returned to take care for several years, however Pickler admitted that it was not as smooth. "I recall my mother and I were together sitting in the same kitchen and I told her "I'd rather die than being there with you. I wish God would remove me.' She got off a knife from the kitchen and placed it in the middle of the counter. Then she said: "Here you go." I was in the fourth grade. Sure, I'd never take action yet it's left quite a bit of emotional trauma," she said. Court eventually gave Pickler to her grandparents at the age of she was 12 and Morton did not show up for the trial. Pickler was raised by her grandmothers throughout her entire life. Pickler cites them as being the most influential people within her lifetime. The grandmother Faye Pickler died from lung cancer in January 2002. she was raised by the grandfather. Pickler received her high school diploma from North Stanly, located in New London, North Carolina.
