Niykee continues to write songs despite having been caught up in the latest turmoil. Niykee was selected to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. Her popularity is constant to producers just getting started. A lot of tracks she gets are a source of songs. "I'll be able to tell within 5 seconds if it's a good beat. Once I've a tune in my mind and I begin to write right away." As I play my guitar outside on my porch the words begin to flow. Most of the time it is accomplished in 30 minutes. Niykee keeps working on her talents as a writer and lyricist. She explains how the trauma she endured through the years can be a source of unusual inspiration. "Even even if I'm not writing about my life directly, the sadness of losing my sister and my painful childhood experiences are integrated into my music," she says. It shapes my songs and helps to create this greater significance behind everything that is one the most important things to me--I need to know that I can listen to any of my songs 20 years down the road and be happy with what I said.
